"...promote sound fiscal management so our tax dollars can be wisely spent on the education of our children..." ![]() Candidate for Board of Education Elizabeth Wasiutynski has lived in Oakville/Watertown since 1956. She and her husband Bo raised seven children in town and enjoy babysitting their grandchildren. After college and graduate school, Liz worked at the CT Department of Mental Health planning for and transitioning clients to community clinics from large psychiatric hospitals. As Regional Director, she allocated state funds and monitored service delivery in Southwest CT. Liz was a member of the Watertown Public Health Nurses’ Association Board of Directors. She is a member of the Watertown Area Special Citizens’ Association. In 1982, when the communists declared martial law in Poland, she helped the Polish trade union, Solidarity, by providing information about conditions in Poland, translating documents, and obtaining political, financial and moral support for their struggle for democracy. Liz was employed by Central CT State University, where she directed a four-year project to send business management experts to Polish universities as guest lecturers in American business best practices. At Tunxis Community College, she promoted industry training programs for business and industry. Liz also worked as a corporate compliance officer for a substance abuse non-profit organization. Liz looks forward to serving Watertown on the Board of Education. She will promote sound fiscal management so our tax dollars can be wisely spent on the education of our children. |
