Candidate for Town Council Elaine (Hryniewicki) Adams is running for her sixth term as a member of the Town Council. She resides in Oakville with her husband, Colin. She attended Watertown schools, as did her 3 children, Bridget, Mark, and Christopher, who are now grown. Mark is also a US Army veteran. Elaine is a new grandmother. Elaine attended Mattatuck Community College. She is employed as a Personnel Manager at Platt Brothers and Company and is a member of the Republican Party. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Employers Association of the Northeast. Elaine was Chairman of the Town Council from 2007 to 2009. She served on the Board of Education for 4 years. Elaine was the Chairman of the Oakville Green Committee and the Deputy Registrar of Voters. She has been a member of the Watertown Park & Recreation Commission, the Watertown Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Jury Committee. Elaine also volunteered for the 143rd Forward Battalion Family Support Group, the Boy Scouts of America Troop 52 Mothers Auxiliary, and the WHS Girls and Boys Swim Team Parent Associations. She was Co-Chairman and Treasurer of the Watertown Park and Recreation Age Group Swim Team Parents Group. Elaine has a strong sense of her responsibility to the voters and wants to help the Council reach sound decisions that benefit all the citizens of Watertown. |
