Candidate for Town Council


Richard Wick is seeking his fourth term on the Town Council, after serving for six years from 1999 to 2005. Dick has lived in Watertown with his wife Judy since 1965. They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and have three children and six grandchildren. As the chief organic farmer at his Fifth Season Farm, he has been a vendor at the Watertown Farmers Market since its beginning four years ago.

Dick holds two degrees in Chemical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from Stanford. He was employed by MacDermid and is currently employed by Tangent Industries. He also served on active duty with the US Army Chemical Corps during the Berlin Crisis.

Dick has volunteered with the Watertown Land Trust since 1974 when he helped to establish the organization, and is a former Chairman. He is a past President and Board Member of the Watertown Foundation and currently serves as a member of its Finance Committee. He served on the Public Building Committee which oversaw the design and construction of the Police Station.

For the last 2 years, Dick has been Chairman of the Watertown-Oakville Independent Party. He researched the process to form a third party, ensured all necessary steps were followed, and guided the newly established organization.

Dick wants to establish open and transparent government for all citizens, not just members of the established parties.
