"...well versed in town issues, the interrelationships of commissions and committees, and town history..." ![]() Candidate for Town Council Sandy Greenwood is seeking her first term on the Town Council. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, and moved to Oakville when she was six months old. She and her husband of 45 years, Whitey, raised their son in Watertown. Sandy graduated from Watertown High School. She is retired , but worked as a licensed hairdresser, certified nurse’s aide, and school crossing guard. Sandy and Whitey began attending Town Council Meetings 10 years ago. They added Board of Education meetings and other commissions meetings (Planning and Zoning, Zoning Board of Appeals, Police Commission, and Public Building) to their schedule. Sandy is extremely well versed in town issues, the interrelationships of commissions and committees, and town history as she and her husband have attended more town meetings than anyone else in Watertown. In 2005, she and her husband received Certificates of Citizens Recognition from the Town Council and Board of Education to recognize their interest in the community because of their attendance at countless town meetings. Sandy is currently serving on the Commission on Aging and is looking forward to using the knowledge she has acquired as a member of the Town Council. |
